A civic pavilion for art, performance and gathering built from brick, laterite and shadow.
Ekaya Arts Centre brings galleries, workshops, a performance court and community rooms around a shaded public spine. Its sweeping brick walls frame arrival while filtering views toward a restored wetland.
Local brick bonds and laterite plinths reinterpret familiar construction traditions at a civic scale. Small apertures create a changing constellation of light across the interior.
Culture as common ground
The building remains open beyond exhibition hours, allowing courts, steps and shaded edges to become everyday social spaces.
